Actuarial
Our actuarial apprenticeship programmes will help you learn how to analyse data, assess risks and create models to drive intelligent decision-making.

Compliance and risk
Our compliance teams are responsible for providing expert advice and guidance to all parts of our UK business to help identify, mitigate and manage regulatory risk. These include financial crime, data protection and privacy and customer-facing conduct risks.

Are you one of our engineers of the future? Conduct hands-on statutory inspections, provide your expert opinion, and empower our clients with an engineering surveyor apprenticeship.

Accounting teams ensure we manage our finances correctly and have the right funds in the right place to support our customers when they need us.

Our human resources team, known as the People Team, enable our people to do their best work, live their best lives and fulfil our commitments to Zurich's stakeholders.

Insurance
You don't need to be an expert in insurance to be a successful insurance apprentice with our claims or underwriting teams.

As an apprentice in our marketing function, known as the Customer Office, you’ll get plenty of hands-on experience with some of the best marketeers in our industry.

Work with customers - ranging from local authorities to large international organisations - to provide crucial risk management guidance.
Frequently asked questions about Zurich apprenticeships
Our apprenticeships range from Level 3 to Level 6, depending on the pathway you choose. You'll find details of the level and the course provider on all of our job adverts.
For example:
- Our Level 3 apprenticeships are equivalent to A-Levels.
- Our Level 4 apprenticeships are the equivalent to a foundation degree or a Higher National Certificate (HNC).
- Degree apprenticeships are typically equivalent to a Level 6 bachelors degree qualification.
The length of your apprenticeship will vary depending on the pathway you choose and the level of your qualification. Some of our apprenticeships take around 18 months to complete, whilst others with higher qualifications can take up to 4 years.
Absolutely! This is a permanent job with Zurich and your apprenticeship is just the start of your career with us. We're committed to your ongoing development, and you'll continue to have plenty of opportunities within Zurich.
Your apprenticeship will often involve attending workshops, completing assignments and spending time with your coach, who will help you collate evidence of your journey so far and put into practice all your new skills and knowledge.
Whilst the majority of your working week will be spent within your role, around six hours a week will be spent 'off the job' carrying out various study-based activities.
We've got your back and are here to help you kick-start your career. First, you'll have regular time with your line manager, who is there to help you flourish and grow. Your team are also there to support you every step of the way. You'll also have a buddy assigned to you, who has usually been an apprentice in the past too. You can also choose to have an international buddy if you're keen to make connections globally.
Finally, you'll also be assigned an apprenticeship coach by your training provider. They'll meet you regularly to support you with your studies.

The job adverts will give you details on the particular apprenticeship you're interested in. Whichever you choose, an apprenticeship is so much more than just gaining knowledge in your studies. It's also about the skills and behaviours you'll develop whilst you're in the role.
Once you've qualified, you'll progress to the next stage of your career and will be able to take on additional responsibility. All of our employees, including previous apprentices, are also eligible to study for apprenticeships right up to Masters level. There are endless opportunities in Zurich and plenty for you to explore - we're very supportive of people widening their skills.
You must have the right to reside and work in the UK as we are unable to provide sponsorship. You also need to have lived in the UK for a minimum of three consecutive years at the time of application.

We have a friendly culture and there's plenty to get involved in. Our apprentices usually join together as one cohort each year, so you'll be part of a great community. We have a launch event where you can all meet and we take on group activities together such as our sustainability challenges and our fun escape room.
There's lots going on around the business and many people choose to join our employee resource groups, such as the Cultural Awareness Network, Zurich Pride UK, Accessibility & Inclusion Network and the Women's Innovation Network. We also take on a lot of charity challenges using our volunteer days, together with our charitable arm, Zurich Community Trust, who have been supporting the community and helping to improve the lives of vulnerable people since 1973.
