What’s it like to do a sustainable energy graduate scheme at Zurich?

What will I need to apply?

Please ensure you have the indefinite right to reside and work in the UK before you apply as we are unable to provide sponsorship. You must have resided in the UK for a minimum of three consecutive years at the time of application.

You’ll also need to have the following:

  • You must have recently achieved (within the last three years) or on track to achieve a 2.1 (or above) from your bachelors or equivalent degree
  • At least 96 UCAS points from 3 A-level subjects (or equivalent)
  • A minimum grade C/4 in Maths and English GCSE (or equivalent)

What skills will I need?

You’ll need to be an excellent team player, with effective communication, problem-solving and organisation skills, and have a real passion for Sustainability. You’ll also need the enthusiasm and drive to support and encourage our customers sustainable energy transition plans, whilst helping them to manage their risks and handling claims.

What will I be doing?

You will rotate between three teams: energy, marine and construction underwriting; claims; and Zurich Resilience Solutions (our engineering proposition). These placements will help you develop expertise across the breadth of insurance - from understanding, assessing and reducing risk, to claims, pricing and insurance frameworks - all with a focus on sustainable energy. This will give you a great foundation for your future career and allow you to make a meaningful impact right from the start.

Energy, Marine & Construction underwriting

As part of your underwriting rotation, you'll learn all about assessing and managing risks, with a strong focus on sustainability. In your role, you'll be evaluating insurance applications, determining terms, and setting premium rates based on detailed analysis. You’ll also work closely with brokers, clients and internal stakeholders.

Claims

An opportunity to work with Zurich Claims team, will allow you to play a crucial role in managing and resolving insurance claims with a focus on sustainability. You’ll work closely with clients, assess damages, and determine appropriate settlements. You’ll also collaborate with various departments to integrate solutions into the claims process, ensuring that our commitment to sustainability is reflected in everything we do.

Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS)

Within ZRS, our engineering proposition, you'll be leading the way in identifying and mitigating risks while promoting sustainable practices across a range of industries. In this role you'll carry out thorough risk assessments, develop risk management strategies, and recommend sustainable solutions. You'll also work closely with clients and internal teams to make sure that sustainability is integrated into all risk engineering processes.

You'll be based in our London office. We also offer flexible working, which you can discuss with your manager.
