Zurich's employee networks

Employee networks

Zurich Pride UK

At Zurich Pride UK, we are passionate about making Zurich a welcoming, safe and inclusive place for all LGBTQ+ individuals to be themselves, and ensuring that our products and services are LGBTQ+ inclusive. We provide support and advice to colleagues, educate about LGBTQ+ topics by organising a variety of internal events, review our policies, and advocate for an inclusive development and future of our organisation.

We are extremely proud to be recognised as one of Stonewall's Top 100 Employers in its Workplace Equality Index 2024! This fantastic achievement shows that we are well on our way to creating a truly inclusive workplace.

However, we won't stop there. We are continually working to make sure that Zurich UK is a place where all colleagues and customers feel safe, seen and valued, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.

Accessibility and Inclusion Network

AIN aim to build a high-performing, inclusive culture, where everyone feels comfortable to be themselves and has equal access to opportunities, experiences and career progression, regardless of any additional requirements or mental health condition they may have.

AIN’s mission is to: help Zurich UK to be recognised as an inclusive organisation internally and externally; remove any barriers that hinder this; and promote equal opportunities for all. AIN also coordinates our network of mental health first aiders to help support the mental health of all at Zurich UK.

Through our mental health first aiders network, we have been able to train more than 100 mental health first aiders, who are based in a variety of locations and roles. They help support employees confidentially and can be approached by any employee to help support their own mental health.

Cultural Awareness Network (CAN)

CAN is committed to increasing our ethnic diversity through a strong focus on recruitment and retention as well as raising awareness of different cultures and customs. We want to better understand the needs of our customers and employees, and ultimately deliver more innovative, diverse services.

CAN has established an annual Cultural Day and developed several guides to highlight different festivals and cultures.

Employees Driving Gender Equity (EDGE)

EDGE is our largest network with over 1100 members in the UK. EDGE’s mission is to create a level playing field and help women thrive in their career at Zurich. EDGE offers a variety of activities from coaching webinars, career conversations and our Global LEAP development programme. EDGE also lobbies for positive action to encourage and support individuals to flourish and grow, both in themselves and in their career at Zurich.
