Applying for a Zurich business management graduate programme

What will I need to apply?

Please ensure you have the indefinite right to reside and work in the UK before you apply as we are unable to provide sponsorship. You must have resided in the UK for a minimum of three consecutive years at the time of application.

You’ll also need to have the following:

  • You must recently have achieved (within the last three years) or on track to receive a minimum 2:1 degree from your bachelor's or equivalent degree
  • At least 96 UCAS points from 3 A-Level subjects (or equivalent)
  • A*-C in English and Maths GCSE (or equivalent).
  • Flexibility around location as this is a rotational programme and you may be asked to work across the UK offices and must be within a commutable distance

What skills will I need?

You will need to have the drive and enthusiasm to understand how our business works. Fantastic team working, communication, organisational and influencing skills are key. You should also be eager to take the lead, have a mindset focused on continuous improvement, be open to new opportunities, and be ready to step outside your comfort zone to deliver for our customers and colleagues.

What will I be doing?

During our 27-month programme, you'll build a strong understanding of our business. This includes how we assess risk, create and price products, distribute and market them, and deliver to our customers when they need us.

You’ll get to explore our business and experience different roles by taking on rotations. Your experience will be tailored to you - you'll work with the graduate programme lead, managers and business representatives to choose rotations that match your interests, areas for growth, and what the business needs.

Throughout the programme you will build diverse networks across our UK business and have excellent opportunities to develop and test your skills. You can expect to get to grips with the complexity of claims, learn about underwriting, analysing risks, delivering reports to stakeholders, driving operational excellence, and potentially managing a team.

You'll be supported by a large network of people and challenged throughout your graduate programme. Whilst working on key business projects and initiatives, you’ll get to ensure you put the customer at the heart of all we do, embed the Zurich culture and develop yourself to be the best leader you can be.

You'll will also complete a Level 6 Senior Insurance Professional Apprenticeship which is equivalent to a Bachelors degree. This includes completing your Chartered Insurance Institute ACII qualification.

What else can I look forward to?

As part of the graduate programme, you'll experience an in-depth learning & development programme that will support you throughout your future career. This will include topics such as self-awareness, building resilience, presenting and much more.

Where will I be based?

As this is a rotational programme, for each rotation you can expect to work out of one of our main locations – Glasgow, Birmingham, London, Farnborough, Fareham or Swindon. We have a hybrid working policy and your office attendance expectations will be decided with your manager for each rotation. Your office location is likely to change for each rotation and we'll talk to you about this each time. We also provide financial support for moving to each location.
