What is Finance?

Our record of turning talented graduates into successful finance professionals is truly excellent and as a Finance graduate you'll benefit from activities designed to develop career-enhancing skills.

You’ll have opportunities to work with other graduates and colleagues from Finance, to widen your network. You will find yourself working in business-facing and corporate finance teams to get the essential experience that could take you almost anywhere. You’ll be expected to work within financial reporting, management accounting, business partnering, expense analysis and treasury management. This will allow you to rotate around the business and build a strong understanding of our culture and how we serve our customers.

What skills will I need?

You`ll need excellent numeracy and analytical skills, the ability to draw conclusions from the analysis of data and communicating recommendations to stakeholders. You will need excellent team-working skills and should be highly motivated and articulate, with the drive to succeed while completing your professional qualification.

What will I be doing?

We want our future finance leaders to understand how Finance operates across the UK and how the work in Finance enables us as a business to better support our customers.

You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a number of business areas to experience this first hand in addition to rotations in finance covering financial reporting, management accounting, expense analysis, treasury management and business partnering.

You will closely collaborate with our business stakeholders, leaders and colleagues to understand the business problems and opportunities and translate them into analytical and data solutions.

What can I look forward to?

You can look forward to a structured rotation programme that will give you a rounded experience of Finance and the hands on experience and exposure you need to understand the breadth of the Finance function while developing your commercial knowledge. You could find yourself supporting with corporate management information; collating and analysing legal entity financial data; undertaking expense analysis; or forecasting, financial planning and decision making completing cost-benefit analyses.

Throughout the programme you'll receive structured training and support while studying for your professional qualifications, including study materials, tutorials and study leave.

We support a wide range of professional qualifications for our Finance graduates, which could include the completion of either ACA, ACCA or CIMA. The qualification that you will complete will vary depending on the business area you join and the route you decide to take.

Where will I be based?

You’ll need to be flexible on location, as some of our businesses require you to work at different sites.
