Where is Zurich Insurance based?
Zurich Insurance Group is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, where it was founded in 1872. Zurich Insurance UK’s head office is in London. We employ over 4,500 people in the UK and are based across a number of locations.

History of Zurich Insurance
Founded in Zurich, Switzerland, in 1872, Zurich Insurance has been committed to helping customers understand and protect themselves from risk ever since.
How many countries does Zurich Insurance operate in?
Zurich Insurance Group (of which Zurich UK is a part) provides insurance products and services in more than 215 countries and territories. The holding company, Zurich Insurance Group Ltd (ZURN), is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange.

CII Chartered Insurer status
We were the first composite insurer (i.e. an insurer that provides both life and non-life insurance) to gain Chartered Insurer status for the whole of our UK general insurance business, as well as our shared service functions.
