Section 172 Companies Act 2006 Statements

The Companies (Miscellaneous) reporting Regulations 2018 applies to all companies reporting in their annual reports on financial years beginning on or after 1 January 2019. This disclosure requires the companies strategic report for all large UK companies including those within a group to make stakeholder disclosures that describe how the directors have had regard to the matters set out in the Companies Act 2006 section 172 (s172) statements.

Below are the section 172 statements for the Zurich Insurance Company subsidiaries which meet the qualifying conditions. These s172 statements explain how the directors of each subsidiary have complied with their duty to promote the success of the company for the benefit of its members, while having regard to the interests of various stakeholders, such as employees, customers, suppliers, regulators, communities and the environment. The s172 statements also describe how the directors have fostered the company's relationships with these stakeholders, and how they have considered the long-term consequences of their decisions, the impact of their activities on the environment, and the desirability of maintaining a reputation for high standards of business conduct.
