Dunbar Assets/Zurich Bank

Zurich previously operated three niche banks, all of whom ceased banking operations some time ago.

  • Dunbar Bank plc stopped opening accounts in July 2010. In September 2011 it ceased to be a bank and its name was changed to Dunbar Assets Limited. It was put into members’ voluntary liquidation in August 2022 dissolved on 12 June 2024.
  • On 14 December 2012 Zurich Bank ceased to be a Bank and was renamed Dunbar Assets Ireland.
  • Zurich Bank International Limited stopped opening new accounts in 2012. On 30 April 2017 it ceased to be a bank and its name was changed to ZBI Limited. It was put into members’ voluntary liquidation on 15 December 2025 and Nicholas Halsall of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC has been appointed as liquidator.

Sadly, we were not able to contact all our Private Banking Depositors. So as to protect these monies, we have transferred them to a designated deposit account operated by independent trustees for safekeeping.

ZBI Limited (in liquidation)

Zurich Bank International Limited (ZBI) closed for business and withdrew all of its banking services in the Isle of Man on 30th April 2017.

It was put into members’ voluntary liquidation in December 2025 and Nicholas Halsall of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLC has been appointed as liquidator.
