Customer wellbeing

Supporting your wellbeing

Life can throw all sorts of challenges at us, and we understand no one is immune to it. Unexpected events can affect any one of us, often in different ways, and there will be times in most of our lives where we’ll find ourselves in need of a bit of extra help and support. At Zurich, our aim is to put our customers’ wellbeing at the heart of our approach and offer support and guidance where we possibly can.

We want our customers to feel comfortable and safe in being open and honest with us, particularly at vulnerable moments in their lives.

Whether you’re struggling with your financial, physical, mental, or social wellbeing, we want to understand how we might be able to help. If you get in touch with us, please let us know so we are best placed to give you the support and service you need.

We encourage our people to think of our customers wellbeing across four pillars to help guide them in identifying potential wellbeing support needs. We’ve outlined the four pillars and what they mean, it isn’t uncommon for people to experience challenges across multiple pillars at one time as they are often connected.

Financial wellbeing

Feeling secure in the knowledge we’re in control of our finances. For most people this is about having the confidence and financial freedom to make choices and compromises which allow us to enjoy life. Having the right financial skills, and knowledge gives us the confidence to make better financial choices and compromise less.

Physical wellbeing

Maintaining a healthy lifestyle allows us to get the most out of our daily activities without undue fatigue or physical stress. While most people are lucky enough to take this for granted, it’s not necessarily the same for someone with illness or physical disabilities. Please talk to us if you’re finding it difficult to access our products, services, or communications.

Mental wellbeing

Mental wellbeing includes emotional and psychological. It affects how we think, feel and act. Poor mental wellbeing can affect our ability to deal with stress, maintain healthy relationships and make good decisions.

Social wellbeing

Social wellbeing is linked to our mental wellbeing. Generally, when we have good relationships, and regular contact with other people, it gives us a sense of belonging, social inclusion, and social stability. If you’re on your own or don’t have a close network of family and friends, it can be a difficult to talk about things, get second opinions and help when you need it.
