Zurich's approach to sustainability
At Zurich we are on a journey to becoming more sustainable, from the way we work with our customers and how we operate our business, to the suppliers we choose to work with. We've taken a number of practical steps across our business to become more sustainable and socially responsible – from using 100% renewable electricity in all our UK offices, to investing millions of pounds in social causes through the Zurich Community Trust.

Our UK sustainability focus areas
In order to be a responsible and impactful insurer, employer and investor, we will be focusing on these three areas of sustainability.
Planet sustainability
At Zurich, planet sustainability means reducing emissions across our own value chain, in line with science-based targets, supporting our customers with their energy transition plans; and helping companies, organisations and the communities we serve, to better manage climate risk and improve their resilience.
Customer sustainability
Customer sustainability means better understanding their needs; growing our range of sustainable products and services; and supporting policyholders in their sustainability transition to build a brighter future together.
People sustainability
The world of work is changing dramatically. We’re committed to making our workplace fit for the future. We’re doing this by piloting new ways of working, re-skilling and upskilling our employees, and giving employees the opportunity to move around our business. People sustainability also relates to our interactions with customers and our investments in the most vulnerable members of society in collaboration with Zurich Community Trust and Z Zurich Foundation.
