We understand being involved in a motor accident or incident can be a distressing and overwhelming experience. In our latest step-by-step guide, we highlight the importance of contacting us straight away to ensure your claim is dealt with as swiftly and smoothly as possible.

Making your motor claim as quick as possible

How quickly we assess a claim will depend on the circumstances of the incident and when we receive the information we need. If we get information up front, we can often do a quicker assessment. Inevitably more complicated claims may take significantly longer.

When you claim, we’ll ask you for the following information. We know it’s not always possible, but if you can have it ready, it can really help.

  • Your motor policy number.
  • Your account of the incident, where and when it happened, who was involved and any injuries.
  • Details of the damage, it’s also good to have pictures, including wide shots of your vehicle and close-up images of the damaged areas
  • Details of any emergency services involvement and, if there is one, a crime reference number.

For minor claims below £2,500*, we can often pay the claim on the same day we receive an estimate or invoice along with this information.

*Excludes total loss, fire and theft claims.
