How to reduce the risk of losing touch with a pension plan

Our top tips to stay in touch with your pension plan

  • Set-up a redirection service for at least two years after you move house.
  • Keep a record of your financial policies and share this, or keep it somewhere easy to find, so that your family or friends can find it if needed.
  • Keep any companies you have financial dealings with informed of any change of name or address.
  • Think through each of your previous employers and consider if you had a pension and if you have access to it. Ask previous employers to give you the details of your pension scheme provider(s).
  • Set-up a Lasting Power of Attorney so that others can act on your behalf if you are unable to. You can visit setting up Power of Attorney for more information about this.
