Alternatively, you can ask us to change a UK address on a policy you’re named on using our simple form. We will use electronic checks to verify the changes you’ve requested and, if unsuccessful, we will contact you for further information.

If your policy is held jointly and you've both changed address, we'll need you both to complete a form.

Call

If you need to notify us of a change to a non-UK address, or you'd simply prefer to speak to us, just give our friendly UK-based team of customer experts a call. We’re open Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 5.30pm (excluding bank holidays).

Don’t forget, if your policy is held jointly and you’ve both moved address, we’ll need to speak to both of you in order to change your address over on your policy.

We may record or monitor calls for training and quality purposes.

Post or email

If you don’t want us to conduct electronic checks to verify your change of address request, you can write or email us instead, providing certified copies of the evidence required.

We’ve explained how to do this, where to send it and the type of evidence we’ll need in the sections below.

There are 3 different lists from which you can pick to send us evidence to verify your change of address.

For list A we only need one item. However, if you can’t provide evidence from this list you can choose to send us one item from both list B and list C (two items in total).

List A:

  • A current UK passport
  • A current UK photocard driving licence
  • A current national identity card (for non-UK nationals)
  • A current UK firearms certificate / shotgun licence
  • A current identify card issued by the Electoral Office for Northern Ireland

Please make sure the documents you send us are current and in date; we can’t accept expired documents.

List B:

  • A valid paper UK driving licence (without photo)
  • Suitable written evidence of your entitlement to a state or local authority funded benefit, such as housing benefit council tax benefit, tax credit, pension, educational or other grant

List C:

  • A council tax bill
  • A bank, building society, credit card or mortgage account statement
  • A gas, electricity or water utility bill or landline telephone bill (note: we cannot accept a mobile phone bill)

When sending us items from this list please note that it must show your full name and residential address.

All documents should be dated within the last 6 months, where applicable. Where documents are issued annually (for example, a council tax bill / mortgage statement), the document for the current 12-month period would be acceptable.

You don’t need to send us original documents, but they do need to be certified for us to accept them. We’ll explain who needs to do that and how below.

  • A Financial Conduct Authority regulated financial adviser
  • A solicitor registered on the Law Society register
  • An accountant – with details of registration
  • An officer of a regulated financial services institution
  • A government department official – with details
  • An FCA / OFT regulated mortgage broker
  • A teacher registered with a GTC number (or equivalent)
  • Ministers of religion
  • A GP or officer of an NHS health authority
  • A Post Office employee (including the Post Office ID checking service)

To certify a copy of a document with a photograph on it the following words should be used:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document, and any photograph bears a good likeness of the applicant.”

To certify a copy of a document without a photograph the following words should be used:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document.”

The certifier must then print their name, title, and telephone number on the document, sign their name, and include their company stamp or job title / occupation and date it accordingly.

The quickest and easiest way to get your certified documents over to us is by scanning or taking a photo and emailing them to us at:

Alternatively, you can send them in the post to us at:

We’d prefer if you didn’t send us original documents to reduce the risks associated with identify theft, but they do need to be certified for us to accept them.

And just so you know, whilst we don’t return copies of documents supplied as standard, if you do require these back please be sure to let us know and we’ll be happy to do so.
