Bereavement and probate services

Bereavement can affect people in very different ways, but access to timely help and support is important for anyone coming to terms with the emotional, financial and practical consequences of a loss.

This is why Zurich Corporate Risk offers an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), provided by Health Assured, which includes specific bereavement support and probate services. The service is available to our Group Life Insurance customers and their eligible employees. It can also be used by their spouses/partners and children aged 16 to 24 in full-time education, living in the same household. 

How will this service help my clients?

Bereavement is unpredictable - it's impossible to know when and how it will affect someone. By providing a 24/7 support service, employers will be able to demonstrate their commitment to their people, which could lead to increased trust and loyalty, and faster return-to-work rates.

Health Assured EAP – the impact on workplace productivity

Through a combination of reactive, proactive and preventative care, our EAP aims to help reduce mental health-related sickness, absence and staff turnover, and help to boost productivity. It can also help your clients demonstrate their commitment to their employees’ health, wellbeing and safety. 

Key features:

  • Up to eight one-hour counselling sessions relating to bereavement from a network of more than 1,650 counsellors across the UK and Ireland. Sessions can be delivered online, or over the phone
  • Callers are proactively allocated to counsellors with lived experience
  • Bereavement and probate support
  • Unlimited access to a 24/7 confidential helpline, with counsellors on hand 365 days a year, to offer friendly, confidential guidance on medical, legal and financial wellbeing, and family issues including childcare, eldercare, housing and tenancy concerns, relationships and marital changes, and redundancy
  • An online library containing a wide range of self-help tools, webinars, factsheets and health checks
  • An easy to access service meaning employees can self-refer or be guided by their manager or HR professional
  • 24/7 crisis assistance support available
  • Manager consultancy and support via the helpline, workshops, briefings and training. Helping managers in areas including: achieving goals; dealing with obstacles; and understanding emotional health in work
  • Access to the Wisdom app

How do clients access the Health Assured EAP?

Your clients will receive a Health Assured welcome pack which includes their unique code and materials to help them to communicate the service to their employees.
