The Zurich Access Portal – a complete end-to-end user experience

Our easy-to-use digital portal enables you to quote, apply and administer schemes created online for Zurich Corporate Risk products.

How to register

  • Advisers have the option to fully register their firm for quote and apply access, or can initially just register for access to quote summaries only. Please note: firm registration will be required to access a full quote or to make an application for cover.
  • A Terms of Business Agreement with us for Directly Authorised firms must be in place prior to firm registration.
  • When registering a firm, the user will be given the role of Portal Administrator. This will give them responsibility to accept and decline new registered users into their firm, set up how they wish users to share their work with others and also give them the ability to quote, apply and administer schemes placed using the portal.

The small print

To use the Zurich Access Portal the Customer (principal employer) and any participating employers must each be a registered UK limited company with a Companies House registration number. They cannot be a limited liability partnership (LLP) or a branch of an overseas company.

For Portal policies the eligibilities must not include any employees that:

  • travel/work offshore
  • are involved in nuclear power generation or services that support this industry, for example decommissioning
  • are involved in manufacture, process or storage of substantial quantities of substances that are classified as ‘explosive’ or ‘flammable’, such as ammunition, explosives, fireworks, or refined petroleum products
  • are involved in the manufacture of hazardous chemicals and/or toxic substances
  • are involved in underground mining, surface mining, quarrying or dam construction
  • are military personnel or armed security personnel
  • are police officers, fire fighters, coast guards or prison guards
  • are pilots (fixed or rotary wing)
  • are professional sportspersons
  • are medical doctors, registered nurses, paramedics or ambulance personnel.

The Zurich Access Portal is designed to produce simple quotes and policies.

You can quote and apply for all Group Life, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness schemes with between 3 and 250 employees. For schemes with 250+ employees please speak to your usual Zurich contact.

The quote will not include or be for:

  • a policy where new employees cannot join
  • customers already insured with Zurich Corporate Risk
  • categories with less than 2 eligible employees
  • categories with equity partners, barristers, non-executive directors, zero-hour contracts or TUPE members
  • eligible employees who are employed by an entity outside the UK or are resident outside the UK
  • eligible employees that are travelling for work to destinations against Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office advice eligibilities linked to more than one pension scheme arrangement
  • eligible employees who have been absent from work due to illness or injury for more than 90 days at the policy start date where a policy is covering 20 lives and over
  • eligible employees who have been absent from work due to illness or injury for more than 30 days at the policy start date where a policy is covering under 20 lives
  • GIP policies - multiple terminating ages, deferred periods, escalation rates and payment periods where there are less than 10 eligible employees
  • GIP policies – with currently insured arrangements where eligible employees that have previously been medically underwritten with adverse decisions (e.g. decline, exclusion, non-provision, postpone or any permille loading) or a loading greater than 100%
  • GIP policies – with currently insured arrangements where there have been more than 2 Group Income Protection claims paid in the last 5 years
  • Excepted Group Life Trust Solution policies – with less than 10 eligible employees
  • Excepted Group Life policies – with more than one category
  • Group Life policies – that have eligible employees with individual benefits greater than £3m
  • Group Life policies – with currently insured arrangements where eligible employees who have previously been medically underwritten with adverse decisions (e.g. decline, exclusion, non-provision, postpone or any per mille loading) or a loading greater than 250%.

When you Register for full access within the Portal you will be agreeing that you have the authority to act as Portal Administrator on behalf of your firm as set out in the Terms of Use.

As a Portal Administrator you will be responsible for the following:

  • accepting those users authorised to act on behalf of your firm
  • managing the users within your firm by providing the correct access permissions and agency codes
  • agreeing how your firm will work in the portal relating to individuals sharing and progressing each other's work
  • managing your firms details.
