Injury rehabilitation information for employees

Our injury rehabilitation service

If you’re recovering from a workplace incident, it’s understandable you may have concerns about how quickly things will get back to normal and what kind of support you’ll need along the way.

The Zurich Rehabilitation Team can offer a range of practical support to aid your recovery and support your safe return to work.

When a major incident happens at work, it can stir up a range of emotions and leave people finding it hard to deal with the trauma.

This can lead to people taking time off work, our Zurich Rehabilitation Team offer a major incident response service that offers psychological first aid to anyone impacted.

This could be through access to a phone helpline or having trained professionals come to the workplace.

Aside from major incidents, you might also have other concerns that affect you personally.

This could have a negative effect on your mental health and might even mean you need time off from work.

During times like these, it's important to contact your employers and agree to use the services of the Zurich Rehabilitation Team for support.

A dedicated Rehabilitation Case Manager will be assigned to carry out a thorough assessment and talk through the next steps to help with your recovery.

Some people might not need to be referred immediately.

For example, those with mild symptoms might just need their symptoms monitored to see how they progress.

During this time, you'll be given some advice on how to manage things yourself.

If you don't need a course of psychological treatment but could benefit from some general support, you could use our Zurich Support Service. It's completely free and focuses on your health and well-being.

This is separate from the Rehabilitation Team but can help with issues such as financial stress, relationship problems or the loss of a loved one. As part of the service, you can attend up to five counselling sessions.

If your Rehabilitation Case Manager thinks you would benefit from psychological treatment, with your permission they will refer you to our medical providers for an assessment and treatment with a qualified therapist.

You'd have regular sessions with a therapist to work towards your goals for recovery. Your Rehabilitation Case Manager will keep an eye on your progress and will regularly check in with you for support.

By the end of your treatment, we hope you'll have reached your recovery goals and be how you were before the incident.

You'll then be ready to go back to work and be discharged from the care of the Rehabilitation Team.
