Empathy Loss Support™ is designed to help employees and their families manage the emotional and practical challenges that follow the loss of a loved one. The service offers practical and emotional support through a dedicated Care Manager and an app. The service guides families every step of the way with a personalised Care Plan, grief resources, estate administration support, funeral planning tools and more.

The impact of bereavement in the workplace

According to the respondents in the Empathy’s Cost of Loss research report, bereavement can impact a workforce deeply - and more often - than many realise:

• 92% of employees said they place high value on bereavement-related employee benefits
• Nearly half of employees who have experienced bereavement would consider leaving their job if support is inadequate. This rises to 74% among Gen Z and 57% of Millennials
• 1 in 3 employees needed time off work to manage administrative or legal matters after a loss
• 27% report a direct impact on their productivity and performance
