Zurich Corporate Risk for Mercer Marsh Benefits

Latest news from Zurich

At Zurich, supporting our clients and their employees is our priority especially during difficult times. That’s why we’ve partnered with Empathy, a bereavement support service, to offer guidance and comfort after the loss of a loved one.

Empathy Loss Support™ is available to our Zurich Group Life, Group Income Protection and Group Critical Illness customers and their employees as well as their families.

We’re pleased to introduce the Munny Financial Coaching Support service, which is now part of our Employee Assistance Programme for all our Group Risk customers and their employees.

Why it matters for your clients?

Through our partnership with Health Assured, the Munny Financial Coaching Support service provides employees with access to personalised financial information and guidance. Helping them to improve their financial wellbeing, with the goal of encouraging confidence and responsible money management.

What employees can discuss:

Employees can choose to focus their session on the topics that matter most to them, including:

  • Budgeting and benefits
  • Debt management
  • Family finances
  • Car finance or lease
  • Buying a home
  • Pensions and investments

All conversations are confidential and centred on general financial guidance. Munny doesn’t promote or provide advice on financial products, investments, or any regulated financial services.

How the service works:

  • Employees book a 30-minute video call session
  • Each session ends with a personalised Munny Plan
  • They also get access to online tools such as calculators, webinars and follow up resources

Cancer affects a growing number of people of working age, 890,000 today in the UK, and rising to an estimated 1,150,000 by 20301. Over a million working people are also cancer carers2.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce our new Cancer Risk Assessment tool, provided by Further. This digital tool gives employees a personalised overview of their cancer risk, along with practical, evidence‑based recommendations to help them reduce it. It also offers clear guidance on screening and early detection strategies.

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of claim, and the impact goes far beyond the diagnosis itself. An employee diagnosed with cancer will take an average of 15 weeks off work3. So it’s no surprise employers really feel the impact across their business.

This tool can help to support employees to take proactive control of their health, helping to build a resilient and healthier workforce.

How can the tool help?

The tool can provide employees with:

  • Clarity about their cancer risk factors – What is their current cancer risk?
  • Personalised actions for prevention – Including practical lifestyle modifications
  • Encouragement for early screening – Helping detect cancer when it’s easiest to treat
  • Empowerment to manage their wellbeing – Giving confidence to make positive changes

Cancer Risk Assessment tool – key features

Quick, expert support for muscle, joint, and movement issues. Employees can access up to six tailored virtual sessions with qualified physiotherapists, including personalised exercise plans and ongoing guidance, helping to improve movement and physical health in the long term.

Dietitian and nutrition service

Personalised advice for digestive health, energy, weight management, and more. Employees can speak directly with a qualified dietitian online or by phone for practical, tailored nutrition support.

Guidance whenever it’s needed. Employees simply answer a few questions online and receive clear, reliable recommendations for next steps, so they know where to turn for the right care.

As part of internal reorganisation within our Scheme Underwriting Structure, we are making changes to our MMB aligned Scheme Underwriting Team.

The Scheme Underwriting responsibilities for MMB will transfer to Wayne Bransgrove, Alex Birrell and Christina Sanders.

We appreciate the strong relationships you have with the current SUW Team, Anne, Deb and Owen and understand that continuity of service is important. To ensure a smooth transition, any new or existing schemes they are currently working on will continue to be managed by them and the new team with immediate effect, will pick up anything else. Anne, Deb and Owen will also be around to support the new team with queries they may have on some of the more complex schemes.
