Additional support services for Group Income Protection policyholders

At Zurich we don’t just cover, we’re here from setbacks to comebacks.

Did you know that as a Group Income Protection customer, you and your employees have access to a wide range of additional support services? Whether your employees need help with managing stress, dealing with illness, or navigating workplace challenges, our services are designed to provide support every step of the way.

Here are some of the ways we can help turn a setback into a comeback.

Employee Assistance Programme

Balancing the pressures of work and home life, whether it’s emotional, physical or financial, can be tough. Our Employee Assistance Programme offers access to structured counselling sessions from counsellors with lived experience, a comprehensive range of online cognitive behavioural therapy, plus unlimited access to a 24/7 confidential helpline support.

ZGP24 services - Virtual GP, physiotherapy, and dietitian support service

Book unlimited appointments instantly through the ZGP24 app or by calling the 24/7 customer service team.

Virtual GP

  • Receive advice, reassurance, and (where appropriate) diagnosis from experienced, practising NHS GPs at a time and day that suits
  • Select either a video or phone consultation and choose a male or female doctor, if you have a preference
  • Arrange private prescriptions for collection at a pharmacy or convenient delivery to any UK address (delivery charges may apply) or arrange referral letters and fit notes at no extra cost

Online physiotherapy service

Quick, expert support for muscle, joint, and movement issues. Employees can access up to 6 tailored virtual sessions with qualified physiotherapists, including personalised exercise plans and ongoing guidance, helping to improve movement and physical health in the long term.

Dietitian and nutrition support service

Personalised advice for digestive health, energy, weight management, and more. Employees can speak directly with a qualified dietitian online or by phone for practical, tailored nutrition support.

Symptom checker

Guidance whenever it’s needed. Employees simply answer a few questions online and receive clear, reliable recommendations for next steps, so they know where to turn for the right care.

Thrive mental wellbeing app

Managing the day-to-day stresses of life can be challenging and overwhelming. Thrive Mental wellbeing app helps you to empower your employees to be more aware of, and help manage, their mental health and wellbeing. The app can help detect, prevent and manage stress, and pre-screen for mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, using NHS-approved assessments. And if someone needs immediate support, the app will signpost them to appropriate sources of help, including crisis lines and NHS services.

Second Medical Opinion

Receiving a medical diagnosis can often be a worrying time. Our Second Medical Opinion service provides timely access to a wide range of specialists who can undertake a case review and help provide peace of mind or additional support.

Precision CancerCare

For new policies or existing customers going through a rate retest, initially quoted from 1st April 2025. Our Precision CancerCare service offers support and access to customised treatment plans, using the latest tumour profiling technology. By understanding the genetic make-up of the cancer, a customised treatment plan specific to the tumour’s molecular profile, can potentially improve outcomes, significantly reduce negative side effects of treatment and help to improve their overall quality of life. This service is for new policies or existing customers going through a rate retest, initially quoted from 1st April 2025. Your policy documentation confirms if this service is available to you.

Eldercare support

Caring responsibilities are increasingly being acknowledged as a workplace challenge, because many employees now have an eldercare responsibility in addition to their day job. Our Eldercare support service can help to reduce this pressure by providing support and information for those caring for an elderly relative and for those who don't currently have caring responsibilities but would like to be informed and prepared for the future.
