What type of insurance do I need for our sports club?
Public liability insurance
As a minimum, you should consider having public liability insurance. Public liability insurance will help protect your sports club if you are found liable for injuring one of your service users or volunteers or damaging a third-party’s property.
Employers’ liability insurance
This cover protects your sports club should you be found liable for causing the injury, illness or death of an employee in the course of their work duties.
Personal accident insurance
This provides a lump sum or regular payment should an employee, volunteer or trustee suffer a sudden and unforeseen accidental injury in the course of their duties.
Trustees’ insurance
Trustees’ indemnity insurance, also known as directors, trustees and officers’ insurance, can protect your trustees or senior decision-makers should a claim be made against them personally. Our trustees’ insurance is provided under our Financial and Administration Liability cover.
What about insurance for sporting events?
Our public liability insurance will automatically cover events you put on, as long as there are fewer than 500 attendees at any one time. If you have more attendees than this, we can create a bespoke policy for you over the phone that includes cover for such events.
