Association of Chief Officers of Scottish Voluntary Association (ACOSVO)

As a membership organisation for third sector leaders and senior staff in Scotland, they aim to support, strengthen and inspire leaders. As a strategic partner of ACOSVO, we provide risk management and insurance advice and support to members.

Charity Commission for England and Wales

Responsible for registering and regulating charities in England and Wales, the charity commission provides a host of useful information for charities, including setting up and registering a charity, regulatory alerts and regular sector-specific reports and publications.

Health and Safety Executive (HSE)

Provide free guidance and advice, aiming to give employers the confidence to manage risks. If you have a policy with us, it is a requirement that you undertake risk assessments. The Health and Safety Executive website provides help and guidance on how to perform and record your Risk Assessments.

NAVCA

NAVCA are a national membership charity for local voluntary infrastructure, and describe themselves as the voice of social action. As England’s largest network of local charities and community groups they offer their members networking opportunities, specialist advice, support, policy information and training.

National Council of Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)

The Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR)

Responsible for the independent regulation and registration for Scotland’s charities, including community groups, religious charities, schools, universities, grant-giving charities, and major care providers. Their website offers a host of useful information for the above organisations.

Social Enterprise UK

The national body for social enterprise. Their website hosts a huge amount of information from start-up guides to information on policies and campaigns, publications, services and events.
