Hired-in machinery insurance

This insurance is provided by Zurich Insurance Company Ltd.

Hired-in Machinery covers the insured’s legal liability under terms of their hiring agreement, to pay for loss or damage caused to hired machinery and also meets the cost of continuing hire charges.

Significant features and benefits

• Cover on a legal liability basis.
• Continuing hire charges following loss or damage.
• The cost of repairing or replacing plant and machinery hired-in following loss or damage, where the Insured is legally liable.

Exclusions or limitations

• Loss or damage, which occurs when two or more items of lifting plant share a single load unless carried out in accordance with BS7121 Safe Use of Cranes.
• Normal wear and tear.
• Motor vehicles where not primarily a tool of trade.
• Loss or damage caused during sea and air transit.
• Damage by terrorism.
