Deterioration of stock insurance

Zurich’s deterioration of stock insurance provides cover for loss of, or damage to, goods stored in any specified cold storage space, due to deterioration or putrefaction.

What is stock deterioration and what causes it?

Stock deterioration can occur due to a failure of refrigeration and other cold storage equipment.

Zurich’s deterioration of stock policy provides cover for deterioration caused by a rise or fall in temperature, due to breakdown or accidental damage to the refrigeration equipment or non-operation of the devices used to control such equipment, failure of public electricity supply and loss of or damage as a result of the action of escaping refrigerant fumes.
