Injury rehabilitation service
Our rehabilitation proposition aims to help reduce the overall cost of injuries and accidents at work by helping employees recover quicker and return to work sooner.
We have an in-house rehabilitation team made up of qualified nurses and allied health professionals, who excel in physical, mental and vocational rehabilitation.
We can provide support at each stage of an employee’s recovery, including early intervention services to prevent some issues from becoming chronic and leading to long-term absence.

Why injury rehabilitation matters to your clients
In this video, Susan Swales, Rehabilitation Case Manager, Zurich UK, explains more about the injury rehabilitation support we can offer pre- and post-claim. The video also features testimonials from customers who have used our injury rehabilitation service.
There are 27,000 people who leave work every year for good following a workplace injury. It's a cost of about 15 billion to the UK economy. The longer the people are off work, the harder it is to get them back into the workplace. So, we have a team of medical professionals throughout the company. As part of our support, we provide rehabilitation for people who have sustained injuries, for example, head injury, neck injury, limb injury, hand injuries, pretty much any part of the body really.
If it was, for example, somebody who had been injured and the dominant hand, for example, we would refer for specific hand therapy by via one of our preferred providers, occupational therapy providers who specialised in that and they would go out to the client, often in their own home. They would have a look at how they were managing in and around the home. The occupational therapist will just look at that, put together a recommendation and continue to provide that therapy.
With Zurich within probably within a few days of us notifying the relevant nurse, we can get rehab or scans or physio and that helps the people we support. So, with, with the scheme, we got people back to work a lot quicker and that helped not only the people, our employees, but also the people we support. The main reason I've, I like to work with Zurich direct is I can pick up a phone and speak to the underwriters or one of the team in the claims department or even the nurses direct.
Personally, I feel Zurich go above and beyond virtually every time we, we ring them or contact them, they can explain things to you within seconds, and it makes you fully familiar with what's going on and the way there, their approach is to how we manage our risk. They're a service that that, you know, we, we would recommend to anybody than we have done in the past. The scheme does help get people back to work and we feel that people would be off a long time without the scheme and it's invaluable to us as an organisation.
I love what I do. It's great to close a case and have somebody at the end of the phone saying thank you very much. I really appreciate what you've done. I couldn't have done it without you, but it is so lovely when you get that positive feedback. You never get bored of that and by enhancing people's lifestyles and, and getting them back on track. Love it.
