Statutory engineering inspections for public sector organisations

Inspections are an essential aspect of ensuring the safety of your people, plant and machinery and often a statutory requirement exists. The Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 sets out the general duties which employers have towards employees and members of the public, and which employees have to themselves and to each other. There is also other legislation covering different types of equipment and machinery, for example, the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER).
