Policy cancellation

We understand that circumstances can change and there may be times when you need to cancel your insurance policy. Before requesting a cancellation, please read the information below carefully to help ensure your organisation remains appropriately protected.

Important information before you cancel

Make sure you have replacement cover in place

Some types of insurance are a legal requirement and should not be cancelled until alternative cover has been arranged.

Employers' Liability insurance is a legal requirement for most organisations that employ staff. If you're cancelling a policy that includes Employers' Liability insurance, you'll need to ensure replacement cover is in place from the cancellation date.

Motor insurance is a legal requirement for vehicles used on any public roads. If you're cancelling a policy including motor insurance, you must arrange alternative cover before your policy ends.

Your cover will end on the cancellation date

Once your policy is cancelled, cover will cease from the agreed cancellation date.

Any claims arising from incidents that occur after the cancellation date won't be covered under the policy. If there is a gap between the cancellation of your existing policy and the start date of any replacement cover, your organisation may be left without insurance protection during that period.

Refunds and cancellation charges

Any refund due, cancellation charges or premium adjustment will be calculated in line with the terms and conditions of your policy.
