Cancer support – every step of the way

At Zurich we don’t just cover, we’re here from setbacks to comebacks

We understand how life-changing a cancer diagnosis can be. We're here to provide the best possible support for your clients and their employees throughout their journey.

Our cancer support services are designed to help your clients' employees every step of the way. We stay in touch with everyone involved and provide one-to-one support, so employees can focus on their treatment and recovery.

Here’s some examples of how we can help support your Group Income Protection clients and their employees:

Cancer support service

Our in-house Cancer Support service provides personalised care for anyone facing a cancer diagnosis. Our team of medically qualified, vocationally experienced nurses offer expert advice, guidance, and one-to-one support, allowing employees to focus on their treatment and recovery.

Here are some of the ways we can help—whether employees are facing a cancer diagnosis, waiting for results, or supporting a loved one with cancer:

  • Create a personalised support plan tailored to individual needs
  • Advocate on their behalf with treatment providers
  • Offer psychological support
  • Signpost to sources of financial assistance
  • Discuss health, wellbeing, and recovery—including advice on activity and guided exercise
  • Suggest helpful resources for their family, so everyone feels supported
  • Identify and address any additional needs that may arise
  • Provide guidance and support for managers, HR, and colleagues, recognising that a cancer diagnosis can affect the whole team

Precision CancerCare*

Our Precision CancerCare service, provided by Further, gives your clients and their employees access to customised cancer treatment plans using the latest tumour profiling technology.

By understanding the unique genetic make-up of each cancer, tailored clinical reports and personalised guidance on treatment options are created based on the tumour’s molecular profile. This approach can improve outcomes, help reduce side effects and enhance overall quality of life.

*New policies or existing customers going through a rate retest, initially quoted from 1 April 2025, have access to the Precision CancerCare and Second Medical Opinion+ services provided by Further.

Psychological support

We also know that quite often conditions such as anxiety and depression are common after a diagnosis and can also have an understandable impact. As well as support from our in-house team, counsellors from our Employee Assistance Programme are on hand to provide essential support and guidance, as the Thrive Mental Wellbeing app.
