Exciting enhancements to the Zurich Access Portal
We’re delighted to share some recent updates to the Zurich Access Portal. These enhancements are designed to make it even easier for you to do business with us online.
More reasons to manage your portfolios online
Category updates
- For group life we’ve increased the maximum multiple of salary to 15, and we’ve increased the fixed benefit from £600,000 to become £1million.
- For group income protection we’ve added a ‘lump sum’ option.
- For group life and group income protection, we’ve made the minimum and maximum entry age an editable field plus we added more terminating ages, which means you have increased flexibility when setting up a quote or policy.
Disclosure update
- Long Term Absentee Disclosure: You can now disclose long term absentees directly within the portal.
- Previous Medical Underwriting Decisions: Schemes that include a previous medical underwriting decision can now also be disclosed through the portal.
Minimum lives update
All group life policies are now available from 3 lives on the portal.
We’ve taken the opportunity to increase the scope of the Zurich Excepted Group Life - Trust Solution (EGLTS), by reducing the minimum number of members to from 10 to 3.
Whilst this is great news, please be aware that this reduction in the minimum number of lives does increase the potential that clients can be close companies, and the arrangement isn’t considered an employee benefit arrangement.
In support of these changes and to highlight the risks and considerations for close companies and partnerships, we’ve created a new Excepted Group Life overview document, that discusses how entry periodic and exit charges could apply in respect of the discretionary trust.

Plus, you can now access most of your clients’ documents through the Zurich Access Portal and take certain actions like request scheme histories or submit claims referrals - whether they’re administered via the portal or not.
