Finding the balance between risk and reward
05/25/2021
Can sport help us find risk-reward balance? Join our conversation with Nicola Adams, OBE to find out.
The Cambridge advance learner’s dictionary describes risk as “the possibility of something bad happening”. At Zurich Municipal, we know that this can be daunting for organisations, but we also believe it’s time to plan for the best case scenario. With knowledge and mitigation action – we want to know, what could go right?
As insurers we recognise that while risk is unavoidable, there are always ways to reduce the potential impacts and increase resilience. Whether it’s through advanced training, effective processes, or mitigation action; there are ways to combat risk. We regularly publish our latest insights and expertise on these topics, which you can sign up to receive our monthly newsletter here. Although words such as risk or resilience are often seen as part the heart of the insurance world, they do in fact hold many parallels to other sectors, including sport.
In Boxing, for example, athletes have to quickly calculate which risks to take to win the match, they work tirelessly to build resilience to get them through competitions. It is using determination and intuitively finding a risk-reward balance in high risk situations that enable boxers to become champions.
Nicola Adams OBE, knows this only too well which is why we are delighted to invite you to join us for a conversation with Nicola on Monday 21 June, 16:15-17:15hrs.
