Zurich UK partners with CoreLogic to streamline property claims process

Zurich UK customers now have access to significantly quicker cash payouts after the insurer streamlined its claims process with CoreLogic’s Claims Connect Platform.
In November Zurich launched a partnership with CoreLogic to digitise its property claims processes on a secure, real-time web application, bringing a more streamlined claims experience to customers and supply chain partners.
Since the rollout six months ago, the average time to settle a building claim under £10,000 via a cash settlement has reduced by between 14 and 19 days. Zurich has also seen in a significant shift in customer preference, with a 12% increase in claimants choosing cash settlements.
Previously, customers making a building claim had to either source their own quotes from local traders or utilise Zurich’s building supply chain to quantify damages.
CoreLogic’s ‘Desk Adjuster’ technology has meant the insurer can now validate and value the damage to a claimant’s property and indemnify them on day one.
By asking a series of incident specific questions, the technology assesses the damage to the property, selects the appropriate repair line items, considers regional variances in price, and calculates the value of the claim, providing the claims handler with a cost from a range of contractors.
This approach leaves customers who want to cash settle their claim free to repair their property when and by whom they wish.
Customers also now have access to a self-service update option through CoreLogic’s Link application. Available on any mobile device, the application provides updates to customers and allows them to submit feedback on the process.
Of the customers who have been offered the use of Link, 60% have accepted and accessed claim updates themselves.
