Zurich introduces no claims discount conversion for SME eTrade fleets

A move which directly responds to broker feedback to provide more choice.
Zurich Insurance is enhancing its Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) eTrade fleet offering by accepting no claims discount (NCD) claims history. This will enable businesses with individual NCD rated policies, which have accumulated a no claims discount, to convert these into an easy to manage commercial Fleet policy with one premium and one confirmed claims experience (CCE).
Zurich’s latest move increases the volume of small businesses the insurer can support with its small fleet insurance which is designed for fleets with two to 20 vehicles. It also provides a smoother e-trade experience for brokers through the platforms they trade on, including Acturis.
Nikki Lidster, Head of SME comments: “Accepting NCD histories for new fleet business is a direct response to feedback that brokers have given us. They wanted more flexibility and choice to simplify SME customers’ fleets as they grow. This update, in addition to wider acceptance around director owned vehicles and sole traders, provides even more solutions to support small fleets.
“SME Fleet has been a strong growth area for us in recent years and we are delighted to bring this additional offering to the market, on all the platforms we trade on, including Acturis.”
The update to the SME Small Fleet proposition is the latest step in Zurich’s e-trade growth plans, helping the insurer meet the needs of a wider range of customers. It means:
- Zurich accepts fleets comprised entirely of NCD-rated vehicles, fleet CCE rated vehicles or a mix of both
- Minimum of one full year NCD history or fleet CCE history is required
- Any driver cover is available on standard vehicles
- There are no additional excesses for young drivers
- Cover remains the same, regardless of a fleet CCE or NCD rated history
- Brokers will be able to self-serve NCD quotes that meet standard acceptance criteria
- At renewal, all customers will receive a fleet CCE
