Zurich Corporate Risk announces enhancements to its GCI proposition

28 January 2026

Zurich Corporate Risk announces enhancements and changes to the product features and benefits of its Group Critical Illness (GCI) product, following its successful market entry a year ago.

The enhancements ensure the GCI proposition continues to provide comprehensive coverage, whilst providing more clarity within Critical Illness definitions. These changes have been made to ensure our proposition remains at the forefront of the market.

The product enhancements consist of the following changes:

  • Inclusion of multiple claims for spouses/partners and children. Previously, cover would cease after a single claim.
  • Changes made to accept eligible claims relating to Pulmonary Artery Graft Surgery and Structural Heart Surgery for customers who are ‘on the NHS waiting list’.
  • Changes to definitions of some critical illness conditions, providing greater clarity for customers and reflecting evolving medical practices.

Commenting on the changes, Nick Homer Head of Market Management for Zurich Corporate Risk said: “We are absolutely delighted with the significant success we have enjoyed since launching our group critical illness proposition a year ago, and are extremely grateful to our intermediary partners and customers for the trust they have shown in us. We are committed to ensuring that our GCI offering is second to none, and these enhancements reflect our desire to respond to evolving needs and the changing clinical environment.”
