19 January 2026

Zurich Corporate Risk today announced three major enhancements to its ZGP24 service for Group Protection customers.

The new services will be available for all Zurich Group Protection customers and their employees. This will be delivered through HealthHero from 19 January 2026 and includes:

  • Virtual Physiotherapy Service - employees can access the new virtual physiotherapist service to help manage their musculoskeletal health through 30-minute virtual sessions. Individuals recovering from injuries or aches can access specialist care through tailored exercise plans and mobility guidance.
  • Dietitian and Nutrition Service - the dietitian and nutrition service provides personalised consultations reviewing nutrition, lifestyle, and medical history offering guidance to help people achieve their goals.
  • Symptom Checker - individuals can answer a few simple questions online and receive clear, reliable recommendations for next steps, so they know where to source the right care.

These additional services support the recent findings from Sir Charlie Mayfield’s "Keep Britain Working Review"1, which revealed that poor workplace health costs UK employers around £85 million annually. The review also identified musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions as a leading cause of older workers leaving employment. In fact, the UK lost 7.1 million working days in 2024/25 due to musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries2 with Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reporting that 511,000 workers are suffering from a work-related MSK disorder3, making it one of the biggest hidden pressures facing employers and employees.

MSK continues to dominate employee concerns

New data released today from Zurich’s Virtual GP service4, provided by HealthHero, echoes the Review’s findings. Of the tens of thousands of consultations in 2025, MSK concerns were the second most common reason people called the virtual GP service for the second year running, reaffirming the issues raised by the Keep Britain Working review. The top reason people called was for dermatology issues (17.7%) with other notable mentions including ENT (11.8%), mental health (9.5%) and gastroenterology (6.5%).

Top five call categories in 2025

Ranking Call category Percentage of total calls Year-on-year change
1 Dermatology 17.7% +0.9%
2 Orthopaedics/MSK 16.6% +2.5%
3 ENT 11.8% -1.2%
4 Mental Health 9.5% +0.4%
5 Gastroenterology 6.9% +0.9%

Not only is MSK a lead call category, but it is also the main reason for specialist referrals at 32.7% with a steady year-on-year increase. This demonstrates the challenges and complexities that MSK conditions have on the workforce. In second and third place are dermatology and mental health, which account for 13.4% and 12.4% respectively of all referrals.

Top five specialist referral categories in 2025

Ranking Referral Percentage of total referrals Year-on-year change
