Zurich UK has appointed Andy King as Head of Regional Market for the North, strengthening its regional leadership team as it continues to invest in growth, service and long term broker partnerships.

Andy will lead the Northern region with a broker led, tailored engagement strategy, recognising that individual brokers have differing needs and that there is no one size fits all approach to regional growth. Andy brings almost 16 years’ experience at Zurich, having held senior roles across strategic execution, operational delivery and broker engagement. He has developed a strong technical and commercial foundation through leadership positions spanning claims and UK retail.

Commenting on his appointment, Andy King said:

“Zurich’s focus on investing in people and maintaining five star service made the role a really exciting opportunity for me. Keeping underwriting decisions in the regions gives our teams the confidence and authority to spend more time supporting brokers, focusing on strong underwriting relationships rather than transactional engagement.”

Zurich’s Mid Market business has already seen a strong increase in new business secured this year. To support this continued momentum, 15 new underwriters will be appointed in the coming months, ensuring broker demand is met while maintaining consistently high service standards.

Morgan Lyons, Head of Mid Market at Zurich, said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Andy to my leadership team. His leadership capability and deep industry knowledge will be invaluable as we continue to grow. This appointment, alongside the significant recruitment activity underway, reinforces our commitment to sustainable regional growth built around strong broker relationships.

“Despite a challenging market environment, the continued growth of our mid market business underlines the strength of our proposition and the importance of investing in our people.”

Zurich’s regional performance has helped shape its wider broker strategy, including the continued expansion of Club Blue, which now includes 167 brokers, with further developments planned.
