Water stops play at Market Bosworth Tennis Club
01/02/2024
Market Bosworth Tennis Club, a vibrant and inclusive tennis community, welcomes players of all ages and skill levels. As a non-profit organisation, the Sports Club relies solely on members' subscriptions and operates through the dedicated efforts of member-volunteers. Nestled on the outskirts of Market Bosworth, the facility boasts six well-maintained courts, equipped with floodlights, allowing our members to enjoy both social and competitive tennis throughout the year.
During the Christmas of 2022, when the club was unattended as members celebrated the holidays, a pipe located in the ceiling unexpectedly burst, leading to water leakage. Unfortunately, by the time the leak was discovered, significant damage had already occurred. The ceiling had collapsed, and the club was saturated.
The club made a claim on their insurance with Zurich, who partnered with Belfor Construction Company to begin the necessary repair work. Before commencing the reinstatement process, the entire club underwent a thorough drying, clearing, and cleaning. In the video below, you’ll see just how much damage an undetected leak can do, and what is meant for the constructions team and the Tennis Club.
