1011  Lets 'Russell' up a tree!

Challenge group size: F

What's the challenge?

KIDS is a national charity providing a wide range of support services to disabled children, young people and their families. They support children with any disability from birth to 25 years of age. They offer their support to the whole family with the aim of giving disabled children a brighter future.

Come and help KIDS decorate their wonderful residential home - Russell House in Almondsbury.
They are looking for a small team of people to bring some festivity to the home for the young disabled people who attend.  The team at the house have some decorations and a small tree but would love some more decorations to make it extra special. A new tree with decorations / lights for it would be brilliant!

This challenge would need to take place between 18-22 December in the morning. A great project to get you into the Christmas spirit!

1012  Got Christmas in Mind?

Challenge group size: L

What's the challenge?

Mind is one of our existing national partners, and is the key provider of mental health services
and support in and around Birmingham.

Here's a challenge for the whole building plus family and friends!  It's time to go through your cupboards and wardrobes to throw out those clothes, books, cd's, toys and homeware that you'll never use again in readiness for your Chrimbo pressies. Please provide 15 bags full of good quality second hand items to replenish the stock in Mind's local Bearwood charity shop.  Mind will provide branded bags.  All you have to do is fill them and deliver your donations to their shop. What could be more simple?

1013  Lets deck out the Market!

Challenge group size: F

St Peter's Hospice

What's the challenge?

St Peter’s Hospice cares for adults with life-limiting illnesses. They aim to improve the quality of life for the living and dying, while extending care and support to their families and loved ones.

St Peter's annual Christmas Market, which boasts 40+ stalls including a café with minced pies and mulled wine, is taking place on Saturday 18th November at the Bristol Grammar School just off the Clifton Triangle. Every year a large group of volunteers set the market up between 4.30pm-8pm the night before (Friday 17th November) and they are in need of a team of volunteers to take on decorating the market. This will mean decorating Christmas Trees, hanging lights and creating displays with the limited decorations they have. Our team will be working alongside volunteers and staff who’ve experienced the support of St Peter’s Hospice first hand. If the team would like, they can also arrange a talk about the hospice and what they do for the Greater Bristol Community.

1014  A Caring Christmas Sort

Challenge group size: F

Caring at Christmas

What's the challenge?

Caring at Christmas is a project from Caring in Bristol. The Caring at Christmas shelter provides homeless people with warm and safe accommodation in Bristol over the Christmas period.

Caring at Christmas needs general help in their stores: sorting donations into date related boxes (as in best before dates), sorting out clothes that they want and those they don’t (including recycling or passing on those they don’t), storing relevant boxes, sorting out donated goods that can be passed onto other charities (e.g women’s charities like One25, or refugee charities like Borderlands), making up wash-kits, making up goodie bags.  This can be picked up by more than one team.
