East Park

What's the challenge?

East Park provides a vital service to families across Scotland, delivering excellent residential care and education to children and young people aged 5 to 25 with complex additional support needs such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attachment Disorder, physical and sensory impairments, learning difficulties and behaviour challenges. We have provided services for more than 140 years and the need for our specialist provision is growing. The organisation has seen a significant increase in the number of children with autism and highly complex learning disabilities. We currently support about 60 children and young people and their families across all our services.

East Park would love a team of volunteers to paint bedrooms in one of their residential houses (Northgate) to freshen the place up.

This would make such a difference to their young residents and really help to create a more homely and refreshing environment for the young people who call this house their home.

ENABLE Glasgow

What's the challenge?

ENABLE Glasgow is a grass roots, community focused charity working with adults with learning disability and their carers and families in Glasgow. We are a membership charity, providing the services local people tell us they want and need. Our main aim is to empower adults with learning disability to get the most from life.

Fortune Works is ENABLE Glasgow's social enterprise, working with over 120 people with learning disability from 9am-4pm Monday- Friday. Based in Drumchapel, Fortune Works offers work based training, social enterprise and a varied programme of social and sports based activities to promote personal development, health and well being and active citizenship. Through various enterprises based in gardening, arts and crafts and light industrial commercial contracts, Fortune Works empowers people with learning disability to make a valuable economic and social contribution to the local community and beyond.

Website

Enable/Fortune Works would love a team or two to come along and help them paint their corridor, doors and walls at one of their buildings (195D Drumry Road East).

This would be a fun challenge working alongside people with learning disability who use the service to freshen up the building. Any help would be much appreciated!

Over 120 service users would directly benefit from this, as well as their staff team (of over 20) and volunteers (of which over 10 regularly attend the project).

This can be taken up by more than one team.
