 Southern Domestic Abuse Service

What's the challenge?

Southern Domestic Abuse Service provides services to people who have experienced or who are experiencing emotional, physical or sexual abuse in their relationships. They run refuges and also offer outreach to families not staying in the refuge but who are still in need of advice, support and information.

Website

They would like a team to re-vamp their living room at their Fareham refuge. They would like the walls and ceiling painted, and a large storage cupboard re-varnished. They would also love a general tidy of the room and some new canvas prints/cushions/soft furnishings would be an added bonus. Important - please note they are in a secret location due to providing refuge accommodation.

Fareham & Gosport Friends of the Homeless

What's the challenge?

Fareham & Gosport Friends of the Homeless is an established local charity which operates a Basics Bank in both towns.

 

They provide practical support to local people in crisis, including, but not exclusively, the homeless.

Website

They are actively looking for new premises for their Gosport Basics Bank and will need help preparing for and completing this move. Jobs such as cleaning, decorating, packing/unpacking stock, assembling shelving, setting up a welcome area for visitors and many more jobs. They do not have a fixed date to vacate  their current premises but would anticipate moving during summer 2017.

What's the challenge?

Shepherds Down school in Compton provides education and support for 113 children aged 4-11 years with complex learning needs.

They would like a team to redecorate the hall, stairs and landings of their Havant refuge. This would involve painting walls, ceilings and woodwork. Some of the ladies would love to assist and be part of the team. Important - please note they are in a secret location due to providing refuge accommodation.

 Minstead Training Trust

What's the challenge?

Minstead Training Trust is a charity based in the heart of the New Forest supporting 100 young adults with learning disabilities.

 

They provide day service opportunities, residential care and community support.

Website

Their Day Service is spread over two sites and includes an extended Victorian hunting lodge as well as 24 acres of land. Inside the house they always need help with decorating and spring cleaning so there is always something needing to be done if your team enjoys a bit of DIY!

What's the challenge?

The Rowans Hospice supports people living well to the end of life and attaining a good death within a caring and compassionate community. Their services include Hospice at Home, Inpatient rooms, Day Care, OT, Physiotherapy, Patient and family support through psychologists and bereavement specialists among others.

Website

They are spring cleaning their office space within the Warehouse in Farlington and in doing so would welcome the support to brighten up the walls with a fresh coat of paint. Photos >

Revitalise

What's the challenge?

Revitalise provides life-changing respite holidays with 24 hour care for disabled people and their carers

Website

Their staff room has not been taken care of for years - the room is run down and the seats are stained and torn. So their challenge is for a team to refurbish the room. Tasks would include: removing the seats, tables and equipment such as the microwave, carrying out a thorough cleaning with possible carpet shampooing, cleaning windows and painting the wall in a neutral colour. Photos >

Shepherds Down school

What's the challenge?

Shepherds Down school in Compton provides education and support for 113 children aged 4-11 years with complex learning needs.

Website

They would love a team to give one or two of their classrooms a fresh lick of paint including the skirting boards. Materials can be provided. This challenge will need to be carried out during the school holidays. Photos >
