Zurich Community Trust (UK) Limited is the community arm of Zurich in the UK and is a registered charity in its own right (registered charity (no. 266983).   We are funded by pre-tax profits from the Zurich UK businesses and by the generous donations from Zurich employees and advisers and employees of Openwork Limited.

Our approach

The Trust's main objective is to give money, time and skills from employees of Zurich and Endsleigh and employees and advisers of Openwork Limited.  Our key focus is to help improve the quality of life for disadvantaged people.

We achieve this through three key funds:

  • Social Transformation:  We fund major Social Transformation programmes which focus on the key social issues that are often overlooked and where we can have the biggest impact.   These programmes aim to create sustainable change through long term funding and active employee involvement.   They are also funded wholly from the annual business donation to the Trust.
  • 'Zurich Cares':  We support our employee involvement programme, 'Zurich Cares', which manages Zurich employees' donations of time, money and skills.  This is matched through the annual donation to the Trust from the Zurich UK businesses. Through Zurich Cares we deliver national, local and overseas grants programmes as well as a dynamic volunteering and fundraising programme.
  • Openwork Foundation:   Zurich Community Trust also supports the Openwork Foundation as a subsidiary fund.

Openwork is one of the largest financial advice networks in the UK, with a strong shareholder base and a professional community of more than 2,000 financial advisers at its heart. Its unique community spirit is epitomised by the way its advisers and employees come together to raise money for good causes, through The Openwork Foundation.

The staff and Advisers of Openwork support their Foundation by donating money through regular giving as well as supporting fundraising events. They also volunteer in their own time to complete one-off projects to benefit local charities.
