...we share with you what a huge difference just one phone call can make!

In partnership with Age UK, the Zurich Community Trust created an award winning telephone befriending service called 'Call in Time' back in 2005.  The service offers employee volunteers an opportunity to be matched with an older person living in isolation and spending 20/30 mins of their time each week chatting to them on the phone. Alison and Margaret were paired up around 5 years ago - see for yourselves how their relationship has blossomed...

BUDDY UP AS A BEFRIENDER... HEARING YOUR VOICE COULD BE THE REASON SOMEONE SMILES EVERY WEEK!

If you are keen to find out more about the Call in Time programme and how you can become a befriender, please contact Jane Boulton.

Later life can sometimes lead to other difficulties that ZCT is keen to address. Living with dementia is one such issue so, as part of our national partnership with Alzheimer's Society, we actively support their 'Dementia Friends' initiative. To date, around 700 dementia friends from Zurich and Endsleigh in the UK have been recruited. If you work within the Zurich Group and would like to set up or attend a Dementia Friends Information Session in 2017, please contact Clare Maynard.
