Isn't it amazing what you can fit into just one day? Entitled 'Going the Distance', the 2016 Zurich Community Trust (ZCT) conference on Tuesday 4 October 2016 at Newbury Racecourse showcased the long-term commitment made to the community through ZCT's charity partnerships, alongside the amazing contribution made by Zurich, Openwork and Endsleigh colleagues through volunteering and fundraising.

Attended by nearly 200 supporters, including charity co-ordinators, ambassadors and external charity partners as well as ZCT Trustees, we also welcomed leaders from the Zurich UK business and colleagues from the Z Zurich Foundation from Switzerland.

The event provided a unique opportunity - after a gap of three years - to share best practice and help to shape future activities. Focusing on the three themes of 'Going the extra mile for Mental Health', 'Caring' and 'Living well in later life', we were lucky to welcome inspirational charity speakers who shared their knowledge and personal experiences. While the three workshops - 'The External Funding Climate for Charities', 'ZCT and CR Futures Council' and 'The Do’s and Dont’s of Fundraising', meant attendees went home that bit wiser and better equipped to 'spread the charity word'.

It all added up to one unforgettable day. A big 'thank you' to everyone who attended.

We'll be sharing snippets from the conference on our Facebook and Twitter pages over the next few weeks. In the meantime, here's our musical 'wrap up' of the day. We hope you enjoy 'going the distance' with ZCT...
