We're very proud to be shortlisted for the Cross-sector Partnership of the Year 2016!

When we asked the sector what they needed most, they told us 'more resource to campaign and lobby Ministers, Parliamentarians and Policy Makers to change policy at the highest levels to improve the mental health and wellbeing of all babies, children and young people in England.'

As a result, ZCT funded the setting up of the Children & Young People's Mental Health Coalition (CYPMHC) in 2010, hosted by The Mental Health Foundation, and has funded it ever since.

It now has around 100 members and has become the lead campaigning, lobbying and influencing body which brings together the informed voice of the voluntary sector, statutory sector and professional bodies to influence policy.

As a result the Coalition has:

  • Influenced the Government in their latest mental health strategy to include a clear focus on children and young people - for the first time!
  • Influenced the Government to fund an additional £1.52 million to improve children & young people's mental health services.
  • Lobbied the Government to prompt them to commission the 2015 'Prevalence Survery' which will result in better data to enable more focused lobbying and better commissioning of services.

The continuing work of the Coalition, is vitally important to the shaping of future generations and their ability to manage their wellbeing and adapt positively to any change within their evolving environment.
