Retiring abroad

If the idea of retiring abroad
appeals to you, you're not alone.

More and more people are choosing to leave the UK to start a new life in retirement.

And no wonder. Moving abroad can transform your lifestyle – giving you not just more money in your pocket, but more sunshine too. Suddenly you're able to pick lemons fresh from the garden, or become an expert on the local vineyards. What's not to like about that?

But it's important to think carefully about where you retire.
Moving to a different country brings real challenges.

Learning a new language and adapting to a new culture are just part of it. You'll need to carefully consider how the move will affect your finances, too.

Will your pension benefits change? What are the tax implications? Should you prepare for extra healthcare costs? There is a lot to think about, so we've put together a guide to help you navigate your way towards a retirement you'll love.
