Used up your yearly ISA allowances and want to save more?

It might be right for you if you want:

  • To save for the medium to long term (usually longer than 5 years) e.g. a house deposit, retirement

  • To save over and above your current yearly ISA allowance. You should invest in an ISA first to help save you tax

  • To take a regular flexible income

  • Potential growth by taking some risk with your money

  • Potentially higher return than saving in cash.

It might not be right for you if you want:

  • an account offering a way to save tax efficiently - you may have to pay income tax and capital gains tax

  • you don’t want to take any risk with your money - the value is not guaranteed as it may go down and you may get back less than you pay in.
  • Things to think about
    • investing in stocks and shares offers the chance of greater returns than cash but it also carries more risks. Your investments can fall in value and you may get back less than you invest

    • charges and fees apply to the management of your investments and for certain transactions. These can affect the return you may get.

    • any income is subject to income tax, and depending on your circumstances you may have to pay capital gains tax when you change funds or take withdrawals.
  • Who can apply?

To start an account you need to:

    • be aged 18 or over, and

    • have been resident in the UK for tax purposes for the last six months.
  • How to apply

You can apply through a financial adviser who will advise you whether this is right for you. Bear in mind, you will have to pay for the advice you receive.

Your adviser will manage your account using our online investment service, Zurich Portfolio. This allows your financial adviser to manage your investments, quickly and securely, in one place. And, if your financial adviser gives you access, you can check them whenever you like, using your own login.
