Claims Case Manager
I joined Zurich Group Income Protection Claims in August 2018 and bring a background of 30 years in the life and health industry with the last 20 years focussing on claims in both reinsurance and direct offices. I have a longstanding specific interest in group risk and passed GR1 in 2018. I really enjoy working with employers and employees, particularly when I can play a part of the wider process of enabling a return to work.
As a Senior Claims Case Manager for Group Income Protection, my responsibilities include assessment of claims, conducting quality checks and technical input, and also working with brokers and the customer directly as required.
Building a rapport with the claimant, employer and broker are key priorities in this role, in order to focus on timely claims management and maximise opportunities to support employees at a time in their lives when they really need it. The role requires a listening ear, empathy, and ensuring an unwell individual has as smooth a claims journey as possible.
We appreciate how important it is to assess claims quickly and without fuss and that’s why we have a same day next day turnaround on all aspects of claims processing. We’ve also developed an innovative telephone based approach using eSignatures to remove the need for our customers to complete any paperwork.
I work closely with our Medical Rehabilitation Team and we can talk about the support that they can provide you and your employees, such as carrying out a rehabilitation assessment or helping to arrange a graded return to work. In some cases we can even arrange and fund treatment to help your employees return to work sooner.
I’ll agree a contact strategy with you to make sure that you get regular updates on any absences that you have notified to me including a weekly pipeline report to keep you up to date.
