Zurich Youth Skills

The Zurich Youth Skills programme involves Zurich employees volunteering in schools to teach secondary school-aged students about financial literacy and careers in financial services, as well as providing guidance on soft skills through CV and interview skills workshops, and mentoring.

In the 2017-2018 academic year 177 Zurich employees volunteered a total of 418 hours to speak to 1,929 students in schools close to our offices across the UK.

We focus on schools with higher deprivation indicators (such as above average percentage of students on free school meals) with the objective of reaching students who wouldn't always have access to such opportunities through friends or family. We also hope that it will create a cohort of diverse young people who aspire to have a career in the insurance industry!
