Types of Apprenticeships and entry requirements

Finance

As a Finance Apprentice you will support the completion and reporting of the financial result. Whilst governance is an important part of the role of Finance we look beyond the numbers and spreadsheets to add value and insight to our customers and stakeholders.

Do you have..?

The key skills you will require for this role include:

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team
  • Effective personal planning and organisation
  • The know-how to handle varying workloads and pressures
  • Appetite to learn and achieve professional qualifications
  • Strong numeracy skills

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 including Maths and English Language
  • A Levels or equivalent would be advantageous
  • A professional attitude with a positive ‘can do’ approach to your work

Actuarial

Working in three specialist areas; Pricing, Reserving and Risk our Actuaries work closely with the business to better understand the financial impacts and risks that our customers and the business face. As an Actuarial Apprentice you’ll be providing actuarial and administrative support. You can expect to be undertaking basic data gathering, analysis and modelling and providing support for a range of actuarial activities, including experience studies, research and model development.

  • Appetite to learn and achieve professional qualifications
  • Strong numeracy and data knowledge skills

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C/4 including Maths and English Language
  • At least 112 UCAS points (or equivalent) from 3 A-level subjects excluding general studies, including minimum B-grade in Mathematics A-Level
  • To be prepared to study towards the ‘Certified Actuarial Analyst’ qualification, certified by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries
  • A professional attitude with a positive ‘can do’ approach to your work

Compliance

As a Compliance Apprentice you will be responsible for ensuring we meet our customer and regulatory obligations by embedding best practice in processes, systems and controls and going the extra mile to ensure we meet the high expectations of our customers. You can expect to be involved in conducting regular risk assessments, the annual planning cycle and reporting for senior management.

  • Strong IT skills, knowledge of Excel preferable

Insurance

As an Insurance Apprentice you you have the opportunity to work within one of our teams. Our current vacancies are:

Telephone Account Exec Team based in Croydon

As an Apprentice in the Telephone Account Exec Team you will be responsible for developing an assigned panel of Brokers by telephone and building relationships with broker staff through regular contact to achieve agreed development objectives. You can expect to gather, collate and update profile and business information about the panel of Brokers and will work as part of a growing team linking in with the Sales and Underwriting teams.

Sales Operations based in Fareham

As an Apprentice in Sales Operations, you will be involved in managing Broker data and systems to support the Sales and Distribution function delivering to Global, Specialist and Retail customers.  You can expect to produce management information covering commission and remuneration whilst maintaining all necessary governance protocols.  You can also expect to develop your relationship skills as you engage with Brokers on a regular basis.
