Cash ISA

Why a Zurich Cash ISA?

A Cash ISA is similar to a traditional savings account and is suitable for short term saving. It allows you to build up your cash savings
and earn tax-free interest on your money.
A Cash ISA is a tax-free way to save your money
The interest on a Cash ISA is paid tax-free meaning you keep all of it
Save up to £20,000 in the 2019-2020 tax year
Available to UK residents over 18 years of age

Good to know…

You need to be aware that some Cash ISAs are instant access while others have fixed terms of up to five years. This means you could be penalised if you withdraw your money before the end of the term.

Over time, inflation will reduce the buying power of money, so if inflation is at 2.5%, in 20 years’ time, £10,000 will only buy the same as £6,100 buys today.

The amount you get back from your ISA will depend on the interest rates, which may be variable.

The basics

The account is designed to build up your cash savings and earn tax-free interest.

It also provides you with a flexible way of making your payments and accessing your money.

It might be right for you if…

You want to save your money for less than five years.

You want to enjoy tax-free savings, withdrawals and interest.

You want easy access to your savings. You want the ability to stop, resume or change your payments to suit your circumstances.

It might not be right for you if…

You want to save for more than five years as inflation may reduce the overall value of your money over the longer term.

You want to invest in assets such as property or shares.

You want to receive a fixed interest rate. Some Cash ISAs feature variable interest rates which may change.

Making the most of your ISA

Paying in the majority or all of your ISA allowance early in the tax year can really pay off.

Putting in the maximum amount of £20,000 at the start of the tax year means your money will be saved for longer and benefit from interest

If you haven’t used all your ISA allowance for this year, it’s not too late.
