As a CII Corporate Chartered insurer, we recognise the importance of having qualified professionals within the insurance industry. We’re working with the Chartered Insurance Institute to make CII qualifications more accessible to our regional brokers.
As part of the 2020 Broker Development Programme, Zurich will fund a successfully nominated individual within your brokerage through their Certificate in Insurance CII qualification.
About the Certificate in Insurance
The Certificate in Insurance develops core knowledge and confidence of the key disciplines needed before you focus your subsequent studies and specialise according to your ambitions and career requirements.
It provides a grounding in basic insurance principles including the regulatory environment, key disciplines of underwriting and claims, in addition to popular products such as motor, household, healthcare and packaged commercial insurances.
The flexible structure of the learning programme means that the qualification compliments day-to-day activities in the insurance industry.
The Certificate comprises one core unit and two additionally selected units from the CII insurance qualifications framework, providing a minimum total of 40 credits on successful completion. There is no prescribed order in which units must be taken, but it is strongly recommended that you sit the required core unit (IF1) first as this provides foundation knowledge upon which the others build.
Please see the below Insurance Qualifications Unit Framework for a breakdown of the qualifications and available units.
For more details on the Certificate in Insurance, please visit the CII website.
How it works
Your nominated candidate will be provided with an 'Enrolment Plus' study pack, which will include the following:
- all study materials
- additional key facts book
- question pack
- online tutorial
If you are interested in nominating an individual for the Cert CII, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that there a limited number of places available, therefore, we will review the submitted nomination and advise of the outcome accordingly.
To provide candidates with the best chance of success, we have arranged an enhanced study package, therefore, unfortunately, Zurich will not be able to fund the cost of any resits that may be required.
Candidates must successfully pass their current unit and have notified Zurich of this prior to ordering any new study materials or booking exams for subsequent units.
It is not a requirement to be a member of the CII prior to enrolling for the Cert CII, however, please note that candidates who are successful in completing their Certificate in Insurance will only be permitted to use the ‘Cert CII’ designation if they are a member of the CII.
Study materials will be available to order up until 30 September 2020 to allow for completion within the CII study year.
Zurich are not responsible for any losses as a result of participation in the CII programme including in the event that CII cancel services.
