How can I register interest in using ZTrade and get set up?


Thank you for your interest in wanting to register and set up on ZTrade. To be able to do this, please visit https://www.zurich.co.uk/broker/. You will see a ‘Get a ZTrade SME Quote’ box on the right hand side of the screen. Please click on the ‘Register my interest’ button within this box. You will then be taken to the registration form. Please complete your details and we will be in touch with you very soon.

Does ZTrade allow me to reset my own password without having to contact your team?


Yes, there is a ‘reset password’ button which allows you to reset your password manually using your security questions.




What new products have you launched?


Commercial Car/Commercial Vehicle/Small Fleet/Personal Accident & Business Travel and Trades & Professions




Are these all SME products?


These products are all suitable for SME customers. In addition, our Small Fleet product can be used for customers with up to 20 vehicles in their fleet. Our PA/BT product can be used for both your SME and mid-market customers.




Where can I find details of these new products?


We’ve produced a number of product overview guides that we can provide you if you haven’t already received them. This gives you a comprehensive overview of all our products. Alternatively all the new product details can be found on our Zurich for Brokers website.




When is the SME Combined product being launched?


Our SME Combined product is the next product we’re working on for our ZTrade platform. We’re looking at this launching in 2017.




What functionality changes have you made to the platform?


The changes we have made focus around the 6 most common issues you have raised with us and improve the performance of the system in these areas:

  • Speed and ease of use of the system
  • The ability to transact renewals
  • Too many flood risks being flagged as referrals
  • Issues with documentation
  • Alternative quotes being complex to create
  • Password reset process



Will I see lots of changes to my normal ZTrade user journey on the system


No – for the new products, they will be available on the menu of products you’ll see – and you just click through and start your journey. With respect to the functionality changes, the majority of the changes that have been made are not highly visible. So you won’t see lots of new screens or deleted pages, for example. But you will notice the difference in performance and that we’ve fixed the common issues that have been fed back to us by brokers.




Will I need training for these changes to the system?


No - the changes made don’t require any training. If you require any help with our new products, please call our Trading Underwriters in Cardiff on 0800 026 1814 who will be happy support with all products except Small Fleet. With respect to Small Fleet, please contact your local Underwriter.




Have you the fixed browser compatibility issue?


With respect to browser compatibility, we are aware that when not using Internet Explorer there may be issues with the platform. We have therefore created a simple shortcut for you to access ZTrade straight from your desktop (where it will open in Internet Explorer every time) and we’re happy to guide you in setting this up (it should take no more than 2 minutes). Does the auto-renewal functionality now work?


ZTrade is designed to provide full cycle functionality to allow you to take control of your customer’s business, from quote through to mid-termadjustments and renewals. Any quotes written on ZTrade from 18th July and then subsequently bound, will automatically renew the following year.Any written prior to this date will go through a manual renewal process and will then qualify for auto renewal the following year.




Does the alternative quote facility now work correctly?


Yes, we’ve made changes to our alternative quote process to ensure that each quote has full edit mode applicable. This means you can go back and amend your previous quotes, without having to keep producing new quotes.




Am I able to amend a new business quote? How do I do this?


Yes, of course – there are several options available to you. As we are able to see the same screens as you, please call us and we will be happy to amend the quote.

Alternatively, if you prefer to do it yourself, there are two options available to you depending on where you are in the new business quote process.

If the quote status is showing as ‘bindable price’, please follow these steps:

  1. Access the ‘Transaction History’ page on ZTrade
  2. Select the ‘Amend Details’ button
  3. You will be navigated to the ‘Quotation summary’ screen
  4. You will find at the bottom of the screen an ‘Amend Details’ button – click this and follow the on screen instructions.



Am I able to amend a renewal quote? How do I do this?


No, as unfortunately you have been issued with a contract certain renewal quote which is locked, but we can still help to amend the quote.Please call our Trading Underwriters in Cardiff on 0800 026 1814 who will be happy to look at the case for you. Or for Small Fleet quotes, please contact your local underwriter.




My quote is appearing as a ‘referral’ due to the postcode. Why is this?


There are a number of reasons as to why the quote is being referred. Examples vary from flood, fire or theft risks to subsidence and location of premises.

How do I lapse a policy?


At Zurich we don’t want to see you go and want to work with you to check the cover and price to provide your customer with the best solution for their risk.

What is ZIP?


ZIP stands for Zurich Indicative Pricing – it’s a quick way of giving you a Zurich premium quote range for the risk you’ve entered, without spending time putting in a full quote. Our commitment is that the final price will not be more or less than 10% outside of the premium range shown in the Zurich Indicative Price.




What is BSST with regards to construction?


BSST stands for Brick, Stone, Slate and Tile




Why does the premises premium on the Commerical Property Owners & Residential Property Owners products no longer add up to the policy premium?


As part of recent improvements made within ZTrade, the premises premium (or premises premiums if multi location) will no longer include the premiums for legal expenses and terrorism (if terrorism included). The Premium & Commission Summary pop-up screen (located within the quotation summary page) now includes static text to indicate that the premises premium excludes legal expenses and terrorism.




Is Zurich able to accommodate non-standard business?


Yes, of course. We understand that there are times when a case needs some flexibility and we have trained underwriters who will be happy to work with you to get a non-standard case on risk. Why should I try ZTrade again – what’s changed?


We recognise that when we first launched, there were a number of platform functionality issues we needed to address. These fell into 6 areas – please refer to question 8 - What functionality changes have you made to the platform? We have tackled these issues and pre-tested the fixes we have put in place, both internally and externally with brokers and there are significant improvements in the platform performance. So we’d encourage you to try us again. In addition, we’ve now got another 5 products live on the system, so there will be a broader range of products available.




I have seen Aviva and Allianz have enhanced a number of their SME policies to tackle underinsurance. How does Zurich's policies respond to underinsurance?


We are monitoring the situation but at the moment we see very little under insurance in the SME space. Indexation and Day 1 uplift which are both features of the new products will help to ensure sums insured keep in line with inflation
